Tata Power and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. (TPEML) have partnered to launch India's largest TATA.ev MegaCharger hub in Mumbai, marking a significant milestone in the country's transition to sustainable transportation. Inaugurated on World EV Day, this collaboration introduces Mumbai's first co-branded, large-scale EV charging station, strategically located near Terminal 2 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at The Leela Mumbai Hotel.
Key Features of the TATA.ev MegaCharger Hub
High-Speed Charging: The hub is equipped with eight fast DC chargers, each with a speed of up to 120 kW.
Simultaneous Charging: With 16 charging bays, the facility can charge up to 16 electric vehicles at once, minimizing wait times and ensuring a smooth user experience, even during peak hours.
24/7 Accessibility: The charging station is open round-the-clock, offering continuous convenience for EV owners.
100% Green Energy: The hub is powered entirely by renewable energy, aligning with India's goal of a sustainable mobility future.
Broad User Base: It is designed to cater to a diverse range of EV users, including private car owners, taxi fleets, ride-hailing services, and logistics operators. Its location also serves business professionals, frequent flyers, and tourists in the bustling Andheri-Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC)-South Mumbai corridor.
A Growing Network for a Greener Future
This new hub is a key addition to Tata Power's existing network of over 1,000 green charging points in Mumbai. The TATA.ev MegaCharger network, a flagship initiative of TPEML, is open to all EV users, with exclusive benefits for TATA.ev customers, such as discounts of up to 25% and priority access. Charging services can be accessed through the Tata Power EZ Charge App, which has over 400,000 registered users, and will soon be integrated into the iRA.ev Connected Car app for TATA.ev owners.
Tata Power has already established an extensive EV charging network across India, with over 5,500 public and captive charging points, more than 140,000 home chargers, and over 1,200 bus charging points in more than 630 cities and towns. The company aims to expand this network to 10,000 public charging points and 750,000 home chargers by 2030. This initiative, as part of Tata Power's 'Sustainable is Attainable' movement, reinforces its commitment to integrating sustainability into daily life and accelerating large-scale EV adoption across the country.
